for perhaps as long as slayers have slain and dusted, the watcher's council stood by them. with their extensive knowledge of demonology, languages, and all things magic and supernatural, the council has trained many young men and instilled within them a long-lasting philosophy: the slayer is man's tool against evil; for all this time, the council has gone by this code. many were killed along with their slayers while most of them stayed behind in london, england, where the council's headquarters was located, to learn about the evil that they would never have the opportunity to face while manning their desks and writing their books. in 2003, as buffy's team braced themselves for suckery, the watcher's council was annihilated, taking most of its staff and council members with it.
six years have passed since both the hellmouth and the council were burned to the ground and both good and evil had their fair share of casualties. rupert giles, buffy summers' former watcher, helped reinstate the new watcher's council and since then have been scouting for new men to fill the demand of hundreds of watcher-less slayers that was never before experienced by the old council. the hundreds of slayers, all from different parts of the world, have been asked to leave their homes and their families to be assigned elsewhere, each with the millenia-old mission of defending mankind from the big bads. now, the action's in rome, italy, where one of the most powerful branches of wolfram and hart have seized the reins as evil faces a newly trained army of slayers.
